I'm developing DuckSocial to explore how playful, lightweight product design can help people connect naturally around shared places and activities. The first pilot is planned for upcoming releases of LimmatBuddy and AareBuddy and has not launched yet.
Story
Why and how I built it
The first move is a small, playful signal: you Quack at someone, they Quack back and contact begins without a heavy introduction or the pressure of a traditional social profile.
Release preparation is ongoing for a pilot inside LimmatBuddy by the Limmat in Zürich and AareBuddy by the Aare in Bern, where both communities already share a place and an activity. The concept remains open to more apps and ways to connect.
Outcomes
What I delivered
- Rapidly prototyped social product concept for lightweight real-world connection.
- Reciprocal Quack interaction that can lead to a conversation, a shared laugh or more.
- Pilot planned for upcoming releases of LimmatBuddy in Zürich and AareBuddy in Bern.
- Expandable concept for more apps, places and ways to connect.
