Consumer app
Product Builder · LiveAareBuddy
I created AareBuddy to help people prepare for swimming and Bööteln on the Aare. The product adapts the river-companion concept to local routes and conditions, bringing preparation, route planning and current river data into one practical web, iOS and Android experience. The next release is still in development.
Total usage
What the numbers mean
- Total installs
Cumulative installations through the date shown. These can include repeat installs and are not a count of unique people or current users.
Apple metric definitions- Installed audience
People with the app installed on at least one Android device used in the previous 30 days, as of the date shown. They did not necessarily open the app.
Google Play metric definitions- Active Users
People who used the app in a single day. “Up to” describes an observed daily peak, not an average. Sunny-day figures describe usage on those days.
These metrics measure different things and are not added together.
- Total installs
- 1,270
- Installed audience
- 165
Story
Why and how I built it
The app centres the most important information before entering the Aare: water temperature, water level, discharge and route context.
An interactive map, route planner, alerts and warnings help people plan safer trips with less uncertainty.
Outcomes
What I delivered
- Live river companion adapted to the Aare and its local users.
- Clear, fast-to-scan real-time river conditions on mobile.
- Interactive map, route planning and warning flows tailored to Aare users.
